Shawn has informed me that the Gift Donation Thermometer has JUMPED! To 40% OMG you guys, SO HAPPY!!!

Check it out, right here. This is kind of the most Shawn has ever been involved with my birthday, which is saying something after a decade. I'm so happy you folks are helping him out here. It's a week and a day to my birthday, and Shawn assures me that he'll keep updating the thermometer till the very last.

Do you like that one? It's one of my favorites. I first encountered it in a Gore Vidal novel, Creation, where he tells the story of a warrior who came upon the monumental tomb of an ancient king. The tomb was cursed with a warning not to open it. Believing there was treasure inside, the warrior opened the tomb, only to find a scroll that read, "If you had not been so importunate, you would not have opened my tomb."
